We are celebrating Volunteers Week with Chelmsford CVS with an exciting event running the length of Chelmsford High Street.
You’ll be able to see first-hand some of the wonderful ways in which charities support our city, and find out how you and your loved ones can access that help.
You’ll also have the chance to learn about all the different opportunities for you to get involved as a volunteer.

Hamlet Court Road is once again hosting it’s family-friendly, multi-cultural festival!
The free community event aims bring people together in art, song, dance, food and poetry.

Leigh Pop Up Christmas Craft Fair
We are taking part in this year’s Leigh Pop Up Christmas Artisan Craft Market!
Residents of our Support Housing facility have been enjoying taking part in art and craft sessions as part of their recovery. Many of these items will be available at our stall at the fair and all sales will help towards funding materials for future craft activities.
We will be at the fair on both the Saturday and Sunday 12-4pm.
Our supported housing service provides care for those recovering from a mental health crisis and provides support and tools towards independent living. Residents often come to us with very little personal belongings from a variety of circumstances, and can stay with us for up to 2 years.
We are always in need of volunteer to assist us at events like this, if you would like to help for one of both of the days then please do get in touch!
Match For Mind 2023
Join us at the annual Match For Mind, between Southend United and Solihull Moors.
The match, which is Blues’ closest home game to World Mental Health Day will be helping to raise awareness and vital funds for SECE Mind.
Our Trustee, Chris Phillips will also be hosting a 24 hr podcast to help boost funds.
You can donate to the fundraiser via their Match For Mind JustGiving page.
Volunteers will be needed before the match to help collect donations at the turnstiles and those that join us will be able to attend the match for free!
No experience needed but you must be 18+ or accompanied by an adult. If you are interested in helping us, please get in touch!

Fundraisers Thankyou Event
A community awareness event to raise our charity profile and say thank you for all our fundraisers’ hard work.
We will be running a tombola and a mental health information table so will be in need of a few extra hands to help us manage this event. This venue is accessible and indoors, with seating and refreshments provided.

‘Meet The Blues’ Annual Family Fun Day
Southend United’s annual family fun day will once again take place in anticipation of the 2022/23 season on Sunday, July 31 at Boots and Laces Training Ground.
Supporters can come along to watch training, meet the coaching team and the first team players and enjoy a day out with all the usual activities including bouncy castles, charity stalls (including Shrimpers Trust tent), food, drink, ice-cream and also purchase a new home and away kit.
Event Timetable:
10:30am – Open to Public
11am – First Team training session – Main Pitch
12:30pm – Academy Foundation Phase Training Session – Main Session
13:30pm – Ladies Training Session – Main Pitch (1 Hour)
2:30pm – Legends Walking Football Game – Main Pitch (1 Hour)

Adventure Island will be holding a music festival for Southend's best unsigned bands, musicicans, dance troupes, painters and creators. The event will be raising money for SECE Mind and Southend Hospital.

‘A Game For Barks’ Memorial Match Fundraiser
A match to remember former Southend United captain Chris Barker is being held at Roots Hall on Saturday 28 May at 3pm. Barker tragically died by suicide at the start of 2020.
‘A Game For Barks’ will be a match between Barker’s former Southend side and a side made of his former team-mates from other clubs. All profits are kindly being donated to our charity.
We are looking for volunteers to help us collect donations before the start of the game.

School Careers Fair at Cornelius Vermuyden School, Canvey Island
The chance for students to learn about the local mental health and charity industries available to them as well as the importance and benefits of volunteering. A great opportunity for pupils and their parents to find out more about their careers of interest and gain information about local organisations.
We are looking for mental health professionals to join us for this afternoon as well as general volunteers to help promote our Children and Young People services.
