Join us for a 90min morning session with Ruth of Forest Clouds Nature Therapy in Belfairs Wood as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
This session is being run in the hope of helping those who have been experiencing poor mental health as a result of the pandemic and are looking to improve their wellbeing.
"Shinrin-Yoku" or forest bathing is the practice of spending time in the forest for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. It literally means to bathe in the atmosphere of the forest, immersing your senses in your surroundings.
Research has proven that spending time around trees can reduce blood pressure, lower stress, boost energy and boost the immune system. During this session our experienced guide Ruth will invite you to participate in various activities and exercises all designed to awaken your natural senses and slow down your mind, to bring your awareness to the here and now deep within nature.
There is good evidence to suggest that, as well as improving physical health, regular exercise and meditation can boost your mood, help beat stress and even reduce risk of depression. This event will be run safely and according to government guidelines - numbers are limited so please reserve your place asap to avoid disappointment.
This session is for adults only, and will adhere to covid safe policies with distancing in place and all activities taking place outside.
Please ensure you wear warm comfortable clothing and footwear, this is a slow walk and can get colder than on a normal pace walk if the weather is cold or wet. Layers are a good idea and bring waterproofs/wellies if rain is likely. The session will still go ahead in rain, but if high winds are forecast we may have to rearrange. We will contact you in this case to re-arrange.
