SECE Mind and Essex Countryside Charity Partnership
South East and Central Essex Mind and Essex Countryside Estate Agency are pleased to announce the start of an ongoing partnership to help mental health in the local community.
Through fundraising and campaigning together, SECE Mind will be working with local estate agency Essex Countryside to help fund vital mental health services and reach those most in need in the local area.
1 in 4 of us will be affected by a mental health issue at some point in our lives. With the aftermath of the pandemic and the increased pressure of the cost of living; many of us are finding that our wellbeing is falling down in our priorities. Just within the local area our charity is still seeing an unrelenting number of cases being referred to us as well as new faces reaching out to us; covering subjects such as trauma, stress, anxiety, loneliness and isolation.
Early intervention and reducing stigma is vital to helping reduce the long term impact on our mental health as a community.
Robyn Blackwood, Income Generation and Communications Manager at SECE Mind said “It is well known buying or selling a house and moving home can be a highly stressful experience for many people – in fact, it’s ranked as one of the top 10 most stressful life events! There can be emotional reasons involved on top of juggling practical logistics and can be a lot to cope with. We hope that this partnership with Essex Countryside will help create awareness about mental health within the property market. The team’s passion for mental health and supporting the wellbeing of their clients and the wider community is really invigorating for our charity, and we look forward to fundraising together to help make a difference.”
South East and Central Essex Mind are a local independent charity offering mental health services and training across Southend, Chelmsford, Rochford, Castle Point and South Woodham Ferrers. Through fundraising and kind donations we provides Supported Housing, Counselling for adults and children, Youth Wellbeing Mentoring, Mental Health Training and our free mental health signposting ‘Somewhere To Turn’, available for anyone who needs it.
