‘There’s Always Time to Talk’ – Together with Big Yellow Self Storage

South East and Central Essex Mind is pleased to be working with Big Yellow Self Storage as part of ongoing mental health awareness efforts in the local area.

This partnership comes as a continuation of the important conversations that began with Time To Talk Day in February; further emphasising the need to break the silence around mental health and fostering open, supportive discussions in communities and workplaces.

The initiative focuses on the simple but powerful message that no matter how busy life gets, or no matter what environment we are in, it’s always important to talk about mental health and reach out to others when needed.

Through our partnership, SECE Mind and Big Yellow Self Storage Southend hope to encourage individuals to start important conversations, whether it’s with a friend, colleague, or loved one. By raising awareness and promoting openness, we can help reduce stigma and create a supportive environment for everyone, every day of the year.

People often use storage units during significant life changes, such as moving, downsizing, or experiencing the loss of a loved one. The emotional burden of these transitions can be overwhelming, and a storage unit can provide an outlet for managing the physical items associated with these events.

David Sollis, CEO of South East and Central Essex Mind, expressed gratitude for Big Yellow Storage’s support.

"We are delighted to have Big Yellow Self Storage on board and supporting our anti-stigma work. They are already aware and passionate about the wellbeing of both their staff and users of their units, so their commitment to raising further awareness and signposting to our services is a great example of positive local engagement.

By joining this initiative, we can work together to encourage more people to speak up and seek support during difficult times, ensuring that no one feels alone."

The year long campaign seeks to remind people that mental health challenges are common, and it’s okay to talk, seek help, or just listen - Not just on awareness days, but every day. The collaboration with local partners aims to build a more inclusive community, reduce stigma, and promote mental wellbeing in the area.
